Susanne Weber-Lehrfeld is a German artist. She lives in Berlin.

Susanne works in an interdisciplinary way and uses performance, video, painting, sculpture and installations to explore social conventions and the different roles women have in society. In her works Susanne playfully uses movement sequences, words and materials from everyday life and stills from her own videos. She is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi which encourages the appreciation of the beauty of imperfection and impermanence. Susanne is interested in posing questions through her art works, performances and installations to explore the unspoken feelings, expectations and fears that emerge, not least between herself and her audience during performances.

Susanne has trained extensively in modern & contemporary dance and ballet over many decades in Berlin, Bielefeld, Detmold, Düsseldorf, Detmold and Paris. She successfully completed the two-year Eurolab Certificate Program in Basic Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies in 2015. Between 2010 and 2016 Susanne attended classes in art and art history at the University of Arts UdK Berlin, taught by Professor Ursula Ströbele and Professor Karlheinz Lüdeking Berlin, and between 2016 and 2023 at the Kunsthochschule Weissensee Berlin taught by Professor Hannes Brunner.

Susanne has performed at the Tafelhalle Nuremberg in works created by Alexandra Rauh and Gunnar Seidel and in Braunschweig for choreographer Sylvia Heyden. Her video ‘Welche Nahrung gibst Du Deiner Seele’ was awarded the third prize at the Kunstwoche Jestebug in 2006. Her works have been exhibited in Ankara, Bielefeld, Berlin, Florence, Milan, New York, Paris, Venice and Seoul.
